Bastion is a design-driven knife company founded by a father and son with a shared respect for tools that are built to last. Our story is rooted in responsibility, restraint, and a belief that performance and form should exist together, without compromise.

Our Story

Dr. Chuck Barry has run a small veterinary clinic since 1995, growing it over time into a custom-built facility with a three-doctor team. His career has been defined by precision, trust, and long-term thinking. Mason Barry brings the design perspective, drawing from years of work in product design, branding, and creative direction, with a focus on material honesty and purposeful form.

The idea for Bastion emerged on a fishing trip in Canada. Away from routine, the conversation turned to the tools we carried and relied on. We saw an opportunity to build something better. A knife that felt considered, dependable, and visually resolved.

Both founders are Eagle Scouts from different generations. That shared foundation of preparedness, discipline, and respect for well-made tools continues to guide how we work.

At Bastion, our mission is to create folding knives that balance performance, function, and form. We focus on limited production, proven materials, and thoughtful engineering. Every detail must earn its place. Nothing ornamental. Nothing unnecessary.
